The Wellington Wailers at Ropetackle Arts Centre: To BOOK NOW go to :https://ropetacklecentre.co.uk/events/wellington-wailers/
For over a decade the Wellington Wailers have gone from strength to strength as Shoreham-by-Sea’s irrepressible shanty crew, singing and interpreting traditional songs from the age of sail. Their lively performances reflect a time when songs helped with the arduous work of hauling ropes, pumping bilges, and pushing capstans. Each shanty has a story: of loves lost and won, heroes and villains, life afloat and, inevitably, a sailor’s desire for a good drink once safely back on shore.
Following their recent success at the Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival, the Wailers are looking forward to returning to Ropetackle in their home town. Their songs – performed without musical backing but accompanied by plenty of harmony, anecdote, and mayhem – bring a unique approach to traditional tunes. They guarantee a night to enjoy – whether sitting and listening or joining in a chorus or two – reliving those bygone days.
The Wellington Wailers, Sea Shanty group from Shoreham-by-Sea, will be at THE SHOREHAM LIFEBOAT OPEN DAY - This Sunday, 25 June at the Lifeboat Station.

The Wellington Wailers, have just 'sailed back' from the fantastic Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival in Cornwall. We will be performing here in the afternoon after 2 pm.
